Welcome to Mrs. Cottrell's Online Office!

Warrior Parents and Guardians,

I am thrilled to be back at Riverdale High School this year as a School Counselor, serving last names M-R. Although I am a Virginia native, I moved to middle Tennessee in 2015 after finishing my higher education in North Carolina. (GO TAR HEELS!) I have worked in Robertson and Williamson counties, but am excited to for the opportunity to serve the community I now call home!
Life has thrown us curveballs lately. Please know I am here to help you and your families the best way I can. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email (cottrellj@rcschools.net) or via phone (615-890-6450 ext. 23508).
The School Counseling program at Riverdale High School serves all students in grades 9-12 and focuses on growth in the following areas:
  • personal/social development
  • academic development
  • career awareness
As a School Counselor, our job is to make sure our students are safe. In the event that you, as the student is in imminent danger to yourself or someone else, please see information below. If you are a parent/guardian and your student is in crisis, please review the information below:
