About Mrs. Williams

Brenda Williams graduated from Anderson University (Anderson, Indiana) in 1986 with a B.A. in Music.  She received her teaching certification from MTSU in 1998.  She began her career at Rockvale Elementary School teaching K-8 music before transferring to Riverdale High School in 2007. Her choirs have performed in Pigeon Forge, St. Louis, Orlando and New York, as well as local performances for the community. Her choirs have consistently received Superior ratings at regional choral festivals, and she has had numerous students selected for Mid-State, All-State, and National Honor Choirs.

 

Mrs. Williams is actively involved in the Middle Tennessee Vocal Association where she has served as Chair of the MTVA Choral Festival, Co-Chair and Chair of the Freshman Honor Choir, and Chair of the Middle School Honor Choir. She has been a guest clinician and accompanist for various MTVA and county festivals.

 

Tennessee has been home for Mrs. Williams since 1983.  She is married to Steven (Rockvale born and raised, and a 1981 graduate of Riverdale), and retired from State Farm. They have two children: Tyler, a 2008 graduate of Riverdale and a 2012 graduate of Anderson University, and Bethany Lightfoot, a 2011 graduate of Riverdale, and a 2015 Graduate of Tennessee Tech University, married in 2017, and a teacher at Blackman Middle School. She is also a proud "Mimi" to grandsons Liam and Emmett and new granddaughter Gwyn.
