Honors College Admissions
Admissions applications are now closed for the 2025-2026 school year. New to RHS students, as well as current freshmen and sophomores, will be eligible to apply in April 2026.
REMINDER: Community Service

Riverdale Honors College Mission Statement
Mission
The mission of Riverdale Honors College is to offer opportunities to specialize in academics with a focus on college and career success. The Honors College provides a prestigious program within the school that aids and encourages student success as they thrive academically, creatively, emotionally, and socially.
Vision
We strive to cultivate an experience of an intimate learning community through high quality academic studies and experiences. Riverdale Honors College will aid in academic attainment, intellectual curiosity, and empower students to fulfill their full potential in their personal and professional pursuits and community responsibilities.
Admission Requirements
Students seeking acceptance into the Riverdale High School Honors College must complete the following:
*Submit an admission application during the open application period in May
*Must be a freshman or sophomore.
(We are no longer accepting juniors and seniors unless they are new to Riverdale).
*Possess a minimum 3.5 GPA at the time of application
*Possess a good attendance record
*Receive a discipline record review
Program Requirements
Once Accepted into the Riverdale High School Honors College students must complete the following:
*Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
*Perform 20 service hours per year. (Use the reporting form and confirmation document on the right to report hours)
*Take at minimum 3 honors, advanced honors, advanced placement, dual enrollment or dual credit courses per year.
*Maintain good attendance and discipline records.
