Music Theory for Choir

Music Theory - What a choir student should know...

In the course of a year in choir, students are expected to know how to navigate through a piece of music and know some very basic musical terms essential to do that. This includes
  1. Naming the notes of the Treble and/or Bass clef (depends on the choir)
  2. Identifying and singing solfege syllables/scale degrees
  3. Identifying music symbols and what they mean (including dynamic and tempo terms)
  4. Identifying and naming key signatures
  5. Rhythm Basics
