Warrior GSA: A club for students with different gender and/or orientation & their allies
The Warrior Gender & Sexuality Alliance, or Warrior GSA, is a student-run organization by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and nonbinary (LGBTQIA+) and allied youth at Riverdale High School. Its purpose is provide safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth, to build supportive community, and to organize around issues impacting members.
The Warrior GSA Mission: “Our mission is to work toward a more accepting environment for LGBTQIA+ students at RHS through education, support, social action and advocacy”.
Warrior GSA is celebrating its 10th ANNIVERSARY at Riverdale! This club was established at Riverdale in November 2013 by student C. Corrigan (now a published author!), and has been student-led every year since. Its founding faculty sponsors were Shae Crowell (current sponsor) and Edie Pondillo (now retired and deeply missed).
