Warrior GSA: A club for students with different gender and/or orientation & their allies
The Warrior Gender & Sexuality Alliance, or Warrior GSA, is a student-run organization by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and nonbinary (LGBTQIA+) and allied youth at Riverdale High School. Its purpose is provide safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth, to build supportive community, and to organize around issues impacting members.
The Warrior GSA Mission: “Our mission is to work toward a more accepting environment for LGBTQIA+ students at RHS through education, support, social action and advocacy”.
Warrior GSA celebrates more than 1 decade at Riverdale! This club was established at Riverdale in November 2013 by student C. Corrigan (now a published author!), and has been student-led every year since. Its founding faculty sponsors were Shae Crowell (current sponsor) and Edie Pondillo (now retired and deeply missed).
