Mock Trial Team

The Criminal Justice Program at Riverdale High School has started their very first ever Mock Trial Competition Team. Legal Studies is a very important aspect of Criminal Justice. In the classroom students are required to learn basic legal jargon, courtroom protocol and procedure, prosecutorial and defensive strategies, and other court-related content. However, we wanted to take our knowledge and apply it to a real-world scenario- so a group of very dedicated students wanted to create a Mock Trial Competition Team. This team begins practices in November when the problem is released, and practices regularly to prepare for the competition in February. The students get to compete at the Rutherford County Judicial Building in front of real-world Legal Professionals. The students must learn skills such as: Opening and Closing Statements, Direct and Cross-Examining Witnesses, Introducing Evidence, Questioning, and Much More! Join Our Team!
